The chiastic structure of John’s prologue is well documented. However, it seems there are many variations. In fact, I have revised the central terms of this structure from my original posting on 01 Oct 2012. I modified the structure based on further study and what I have learned from Fr. John Behr about about taking John on his own terms, especially regarding John 1:14. (Search YouTube for Fr. John’s lecture, “The Incarnation and the Passion in the Gospel of John” (07 Dec 2019, Lanier Theological Library, Houston, TX). Note especially how various themes of the prologue are developed later in John’s gospel.
